Khoda directs PDD to register power theft cases against offenders |

Instead for any fast moving spares required by the department, a rate contract should be fixed for the year.The department was also directed that whenever and wherever a case of electricity theft or illegal connection comes to the notice of the department, FIR should immediately be registered against the defaulters and progress of investigation and trial monitored.On account of large number of theft cases being detected, the Commission decided to recommend to Government to earmark one police station each at Jammu and Srinagar for dealing with the offences under Electricity Act.The HODs of the department were directed to personally look into the complaints regarding power theft, illegal connections and procurement of substandard material for different works.The meeting was chaired by Shri Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner and attended by Shri R. K. Jerath, Vigilance Commissioner, Mrs. Gous-Ul-Nisa, Vigilance Commissioner, Shri B. A. Khan, Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Kashmir, Shri Ajay Gupta, Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Jammu, Shri Khurshid Ahmad Badoo, Chief Engineer, P&MM Wing J&K and other senior officers of Power Development Department, State Vigilance Commission and State Vigilance Organization. |

The controversy around Nestle's Maggi noodles has caused panic throughout the nation and it doesn't look like it will die down any time soon.
After the initial test results by Uttar Pradesh Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed harmful levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead in Maggi, various states across India and even Bangladesh conducted tests on Maggi to find out whether the food product is safe or not.
The controversy around Maggi has led to tests being conducted across the country.
The entire controversy began when the UP FDA last month asked Nestle India to withdraw a batch of Maggi noodles "which were manufactured in February 2014" after it found high levels of added MSG, a taste enhancer, in the noodles and lead beyond permissible limits.
