altJehlum Post News/ Srinagar/ August 12, 2015/ Appealing people to observe complete strike on the eve of Indian Independence Day on August 15, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq Wednesday asked Kashmiris to protest the Indian atrocities aimed to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmir besides showing complete commitment and resolve towards the movement. He said Hurriyat was not against the of Independence celebrations and progress of any country, adding, however, the peace and prosperity in the region could only be achieved if Kashmir issue is resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmir. Mirwaiz stated that India

gave innumerable sacrifices for its freedom and thus it could have been perceived the country would respect the freedom of others as well. However, he said the reality was that the claimants of so called biggest democracy has suppressed the political, religious and economic rights of Kashmir by use of military might and used all inhuman tactics to break the resolve of Kashmiri people and its leadership. Hurriyat (M) Chairman said instead of turning its eyes away from the historical and political realities of Kashmir, Indian leadership should accept the reality that it can’t suppress the aspirations and emotions of Kashmiris for too long by use of force and coercion. He said Kashmir was a international dispute and its political future will be decided by its own people. Meanwhile, Hurriyat spokesman has condemned the impediments created by the forces across the state in the wake of August 15. He stated that people were being frisked and checkpoints were installed to create inconvenience to people under the garb of security.

The controversy around Nestle's Maggi noodles has caused panic throughout the nation and it doesn't look like it will die down any time soon.

After the initial test results by Uttar Pradesh Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed harmful levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead in Maggi, various states across India and even Bangladesh conducted tests on Maggi to find out whether the food product is safe or not.

The controversy around Maggi has led to tests being conducted across the country.

The entire controversy began when the UP FDA last month asked Nestle India to withdraw a batch of Maggi noodles "which were manufactured in February 2014" after it found high levels of added MSG, a taste enhancer, in the noodles and lead beyond permissible limits.
