The recent incidents of terror in Sydney, Peshawar and Paris have a common denominator, and that is the rise of rightist elements who believe that through defiance and bloodshed they would be able to make a mark. More than a million people on the streets of Paris have made a resounding point. The resolve was not to tolerate radicalism and to stand fast together without any bias. Indeed, that was what is needed from Paris to Peshawar and from Samara to Nigeria as the civil society joins hands against the Daesh and their likes in the shadows. Extremists from any religion or creed are nuisance and there isn’t any excuse for their nefarious acts. Whether they are Kouachi brothers, Amedy Coulibaly, Man Haron Monis or the Fazlullahs from Taleban. They are condemnable and need to be exterminated. The fact that leaders from more than 40 nations, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the UAE’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and United States Attorney Eric Holder marched with the unison slogans of ‘liberty’, ‘no to terrorists’ and ‘Vive la France’, it was an extraordinary display of solidarity and consensus for a collective secure future. What needs to be done beyond this point is to formulate a strategy and foment a mindset wherein extremism in whatever form and manifestation will not be tolerated. The recent incidents of terror in Sydney, Peshawar and Paris have a common denominator, and that is the rise of rightist elements who believe that through defiance and bloodshed they would be able to make a mark. That psyche has to fail. The millions that marched on the streets of France and elsewhere in Europe and Asia to pay tributes to the fallen pen-pickers’ of Charlie Hebdo have delivered a simple message: i.e., difference of opinion and altercation can be better resolved through dialogue and the need of the hour is to coexist rather than get down to each other throats! At the same time, what is indispensable is beefing up of intelligence and security measures worldwide, so that such episodes of shootouts and mayhems are not repeated. The biggest challenge to world peace is in the form of the rise of Daesh in the Middle East and silent recruitment that is underway on their behalf in the progressive green pastures of Europe, America and Australia. This tendency has to be fought and the culprits exterminated. The Paris rally ‘linking arms in an act of solidarity’ with pens in their hands has to travel to each and every nook and corner of flashpoint across the globe. Only then can the war on terrorism that is being fought for more than a decade will triumph in a logical manner. Extremists who try to corrupt the values of faith and great civilisations to justify violence are ought to be defeated. The controversy around Nestle's Maggi noodles has caused panic throughout the nation and it doesn't look like it will die down any time soon.
After the initial test results by Uttar Pradesh Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed harmful levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead in Maggi, various states across India and even Bangladesh conducted tests on Maggi to find out whether the food product is safe or not.
The controversy around Maggi has led to tests being conducted across the country.
The entire controversy began when the UP FDA last month asked Nestle India to withdraw a batch of Maggi noodles "which were manufactured in February 2014" after it found high levels of added MSG, a taste enhancer, in the noodles and lead beyond permissible limits.
