Subject:    Selection list of candidates for the post of Inspector (State Cadre) J&K Excise and Commercial Taxes (Subordinate) Service.

 Ref:      i)    No.ET/Estt/154/2012 dated: 26-03-2013 of Finance Department.

ii)      Letter No. SSB/Sel/Secy/014/604-10 dated 04-02-2014 from the J&K Services Selection Board, Jammu.

 Government Order No. 97 - F of 2014

Dated:   31 - 03 – 2014

As recommended by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board, sanction is hereby accorded to the temporary appointment of 20 (Twenty) candidates indicated in Annexure to this order as Inspectors (State Cadre) in the Pay Band of 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of 4200/- in the Jammu and Kashmir Excise and Commercial Taxes (Subordinate) Service with immediate effect. The appointees shall report to the respective departments as indicated against each in Annexure to this order within a period of 21 days from the date of issue of the order. In case of failure of any appointee to join within the stipulated period, his/her appointment shall be deemed to have been cancelled without any further notice. The appointees shall be allowed to join only on production of the following certificates in original:-

  1. 1.Academic Qualification Certificates.
  2. 2.Matriculation/Date of Birth Certificate.
  3. 3.Health Certificate issued by Chief Medical Officer.
  4. 4.Permanent Resident Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
  5. 5.Certificates from the concerned authorities to the effect that no loan under self employment scheme has been taken by the appointee.
  6. 6.Relevant category certificates (in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories).

The appointment of the candidates as Inspector shall further be subject to the following conditions:-

  1. i)Each appointee shall give an undertaking duly attested by the First Class Magistrate, in the shape of an affidavit to the effect that in case adverse report about his/her character and antecedents is received from Inspector General of Police, (CID), J&K to whom a reference shall be made by the Finance Department, the candidate shall have no right to claim his/her appointment as Inspector and his appointment as such shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab-initio.
  2. ii)If on verification, the certificate(s) produced by the appointees are proved fake or forged, the appointment shall be cancelled abinitio.

The mode of payment of salary of the appointees shall be governed by the Fixed Salary Mode notified by the Finance Department vide Government Order No.257-F of 2011 dated 27-10-2011 and the same shall not be drawn and disbursed to them unless the satisfactory reports in respect of (i) and (ii) above are received in their favour. The appointees shall be on probation for a period of 02 years and shall undergo and qualify the Departmental Examination (Excise & Taxation Part II Examination) within the period of probation. The inter-se-seniority of the appointees shall be in the order in which their names appear in this Government Order which is in accordance with the merit secured by them as per the select list furnished by the J&K Services Selection Board.

    After the initial test results by Uttar Pradesh Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed harmful levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead in Maggi, various states across India and even Bangladesh conducted tests on Maggi to find out whether the food product is safe or not.

    The controversy around Maggi has led to tests being conducted across the country.

    The entire controversy began when the UP FDA last month asked Nestle India to withdraw a batch of Maggi noodles "which were manufactured in February 2014" after it found high levels of added MSG, a taste enhancer, in the noodles and lead beyond permissible limits.
